The Approach to the Management of Diabetes Mellitus is developed by the Diabetes Care and Education Committee of the Banting and Best Diabetes Centre with contributions form health care professionals at University of Toronto affiliated institutions. One of the Diabetes Care and Education Committee's mandates is to develop and publish standards for the care of people with diabetes managed by health care providers based in Toronto area hospitals, and to communicate these standards to health care practitioners nationally.
