14. Insulin-Like Growth Factor Binding Protein-1 (IGFBP-1)

The assay is a two-step assay for measurement of human insulin-like growth factor binding protein 1 (IGFBP-1) in serum. A monoclonal antibody specific for human IGFBP-1 is immobilized on microtiter plates and another monoclonal antibody also specific for IGFBP-1 is conjugated to horseradish peroxidase (HRP). IGFBP-1 from the specimen is sequentially bound to two monoclonal antibodies, one immobilized on microtiter plates, the other conjugated to horseradish peroxidae (HRP). After washing, substrate is added. The amount of IGFBP-1 is proportional to the enzyme activity. The reaction is terminated by adding stopping solution. Absorbance is measured on a microplate reader.
