Such patients often have complicated medication regimens coupled with adherence problems. I am involved in educating such patients about their medications and their proper use as well as important side effects. In addition, I collaborate with our endocrinologists and nephrologists to optimize patients’ blood glucose control, hypertension, lipid control and medication regimens.
